Call to Action: Reach out to Your Senators and Congressman or Congresswoman in the House of Representatives Today

By Joseph Weeks posted 03-07-2018 13:27

Congress is currently considering legislation to fund the federal government and it is important that S. 1879/H.R. 3032 – our Medicare Provider Recognition bills -- be included in any budget bill package. Congress is seeking to develop an “Omnibus Budget Bill” which is a top priority and mental health and addictions funding is in the spotlight. Congress is seeking to develop this bill by March 23rd, so there is time for you to contact your legislators and tell them that “language authorizing mental health counselors to serve as Medicare providers should be part of any federal funding bill.”

Please contact your Senators and your Congressman or Congresswoman in the House of Representatives in Washington and tell them to include our Medicare bills – S. 1879 and H.R. 3032 – in the Omnibus Appropriations Bill.  Please take a few minutes to contact your members of Congress and personalize your message focusing on your experience providing mental health and addiction services to the elderly and disabled individuals.

Support from mental health counselors is critically important to getting this legislation passed. There are limited opportunities during each Congress to pass our Medicare legislation, so please make your voice heard now.

Thank you for your support and assistance!
