The American Cancer Society projects an estimated 1,658,370 new cancer cases diagnosed and 589,430 cancer deaths in the US in 2015. This number is projected to almost double to 3 million cases by 2050. Diagnosis and treatment of cancer is a major life stress for the person with cancer and heir families resulting in psychological as well as social difficulties. It is estimated 1/3 of people with cancer experience ongoing significant psychosocial distress.
This webinar will address:

  • The range of issues that arise in counseling cancer patients from the emotional experience along the spectrum of the cancer journey: diagnosis, treatment, recurrence, terminal disease, bereavement and survival
  • Psychotherapy and counseling interventions to address these issues
