AMHCA Mentor Program

AMHCA invites you to implement the Mentor Program within your state chapter by using the provided materials and guidelines. Your state may already have a mentor program in place, and you may wish to incorporate more structure, expand marketing efforts, or add an evaluation process to measure the program’s effectiveness.

Mission & Purpose

The goal of the AMHCA Mentor Program is to facilitate the development and enhancement of mentor relationships at the state level. The purpose of the Mentor program is to bring student and pre-licensed members together with licensed professional counselors to help them navigate their professional development as counselors.

Mentor Program

It is our intention that each state chapter will examine its interest in and ability to implement a mentor program locally. State chapters may utilize any and all of the materials provided in the AMHCA Mentor Handbook and adapt them as needed within the overall program guidelines. All program participants will be expected to abide by the AMHCA Code of Ethics and comply with the AMHCA Mentor Program guidelines.
