Leaves Are Falling,
But Not AMHCA’s Membership
Autumn leaves may be falling, but not AMHCA membership—we are experiencing a 7 percent year-to-date increase and are now moving beyond the 6,000 level. This is especially rewarding news in such volatile and difficult economic times.
AMHCA members tell us they appreciate our strong member responsiveness and our continued effort to provide new and needed products and services. The AMHCA staff and I are always interested to know of any member needs so that we can enhance your AMHCA membership experience. You may reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
AMHCA and John Wiley
AMHCA and its members have gained a new business partner with John Wiley Publishing. Wiley has served the professional and business community for more than 200 years, and the company is still growing. The company’s current migration to the digital world is only the latest example of its constant innovation.
The AMHCA–Wiley partnership will involve a series of joint projects to better inform the AMHCA membership of the latest clinical tools and research important to clinical mental health counseling. Watch in the coming weeks for announcements relating to this new partnership.
Meantime, feel free to visit Wiley, and check out its selection of psychology-related books.
The AMHCA Foundation (AMHCF)
As 2011 comes to a close, please consider making a tax benefit donation to the AMHCA Foundation (AMHCF). The mission of AMHCF is to improve the mental health of all Americans through public education about mental health issues, mental health research, access to mental health services, and promoting high standards for mental health practitioners.
The AMHCF Board of Trustees and I look forward to and appreciate your important support and donations. By giving to AMHCA’s foundation, you are giving back to the organization that has work for you, and continues to work to advance the profession of mental health counseling.
Call for Board Nominations
AMHCA’s direction as an association is set by its 11-member board of directors, which is made up of elected officers as well as representatives from each of AMHCA’s four geographical regions: Midwestern, North Atlantic, Southern, and Western.
If you would like to have a stronger voice in influencing AMHCA’s policies, and be part of the high-caliber group of peers who serve on AMHCA’s board, consider running for one of the three positions on AMHCA’s board that will be open in 2012. The positions of president-elect, North Atlantic Region Director, and Southern Region Director will be voted on in the spring election.
The term for each position is July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2015. Click here for more information about how to become a candidate.
