A Collage of Conference Moments
Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW, captivated the audience with a keynote address on “The Power of Vulnerability.”
Registration was hopping! The conference drew more than 550 attendees; many also attended one of two pre-conference workshops as well as Leadership Training.
AMHCA members enjoy the Awards Luncheon. “Networking at the conference not only provides a web of resources and the support that networking provides,” says AMHCA President Karen Langer, LMHC, “it also reminds us why we are in this profession.”
The Awards Program is an important way for AMHCA to recognize excellence in the profession. Above, Gary Gintner, PhD (left), presents the AMHCA Foundation scholarship award to Douglas Kabell.
The conference offered a Cyber Cafe for folks who wanted to get online without returning to their hotel room, as well as networking breaks, and special graduate-students-only activities in addition to a silent auction.
AMHCA leaders also enjoy the sessions. From the left, three AMHCA past presidents: Gail Mears, PsyD, LCMHC; Gary Gintner, PhD, LPC; and Carol Staben–Burroughs, LCPC. At the far right is AMHCA Executive Director & CEO W. Mark Hamilton, PhD.
Packed sessions were the order of the day at AMHCA’s Annual Conference, the only national conference focused exclusively on mental health counseling issues.
Make plans now to attend AMHCA’s Annual Conference next year in WASHINGTON, D.C, July 18–20, 2013.
