AMHCA Graduate Student Committee

The mission of the AMHCA Graduate Student Committee is to enhance student professional identity through collaboration and networking with licensed professional mental health counselors and the governing body of AMHCA.

The primary objectives of the committee are to:

  • Serve as the voice for all AMHCA graduate student members by contributing to the National Conference Planning Committee meetings
  • Serve as a medium of communication between AMCHA leadership and graduate student members
  • Discuss issues relevant to the graduate student member population during monthly committee meetings
  • Provide updates to the student portion of the AMHCA website (
  • Contribute articles for the Student Corner section of The Advocate by committee members or graduate student members at-large
  • Promote graduate student membership in AMHCA through membership campaigns
  • Promote graduate student leadership in AMHCA through communication via email and The Advocate
  • Term specific objectives include, but are not limited to:
    • Advocacy campaigns for issues relevant to graduate student members (i.e., Federal Legislative Advocacy Network)
    • Promotion of graduate student leadership at national and state levels
    • Development and expansion of networking for graduate student members
    • Campaigns/initiatives relevant to current issues in the field of mental health counseling
