About the Event
This highly interactive session will provide a brief overview of the basic concepts of artificial intelligence and will then move on to catalog the ethical challenges that this technology is likely to create when applied in the mental health setting. We will also consider other commonly used and emerging technologies, allowing us to consider ethical issues not only with artificial intelligence, but also with social media and electronic communication.

Learning Objectives:

• To define artificial intelligence and discuss its application to healthcare.
• To catalog the most relevant ethical issues that utilizing AI, social media, and electronic communication in healthcare is likely to produce.
• To provide an ethical framework for assessing the appropriate and inappropriate use of these technologies.
