Robert E. Wubbolding, EdD, LPCC

Bob Wubbolding is the director of the Center for Reality in Cincinnati, Ohio, and professor emeritus at Xavier University. He was director of training for the William Glasser Institute (1987–2011) and has taught Reality Therapy from Korea to Kuwait and from Singapore to Slovenia.

A counselor and psychologist, he has been a high school counselor, elementary school counselor, a halfway house counselor for sexoffenders, and a consultant to the drug and alcohol abuse programs of the U.S. Army and Air Force.

A frequent presenter, his workshops always include practical demonstrations of how to counsel a wide variety of clients.

He has authored over 150 articles and essays, 37 chapters in textbooks, and 17 books, including the comprehensive “Reality Therapy for the 21st Century” as well as “Reality Therapy: Theories of Psychotherapy Series” published in 2011 by the American Psychological Association, and “Reality Therapy and Self-Evaluation: The Key to Client Change,” published in 2017 by the American Counseling Association.

Jane Pearson, PhD

Jane a clinical psychologist, chairs the National Institute of Mental Health’s Suicide Research Consortium.

She is the associate director for preventive interventions in the Division of Services and Intervention Research, and has led the staffing for the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention Research Prioritization Task Force.

Stefanie Carnes, PhD, CSAT-S

Stefanie is president of the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). In addition, she is a licensed marriage and family therapist and an AAMFTapproved supervisor and a regular speaker at national conferences. Her area of expertise is working with clients and families struggling with multiple additions, such as sexual addiction, eating disorders, and chemical dependency.

Dr. Carnes is also a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and Supervisor (CSAT-S), specializing in therapy for couples and families struggling with sexual addiction.

She is the author of numerous research articles and publications, including the two books from which the quotes on these pages are drawn: “Mending a Shattered Heart: A Guide for Partners of Sex Addicts” (2012) and (along with Mari A. Lee, LMFT, and Anthony D. Rodriguez, LCSW), “Facing Heartbreak: Steps to Recovery for Partners of Sex Addicts” (2009, 2011), editor, and author of chapters 1 and 9, and coauthor of chapters 3 and 13.
