Luis Charles Hines, Ph.D., D. Min., LMHC, LPC
I have been involved in the counseling profession as a professional and community advocate in many capacities for over 35 years. My experience and exposure in many leadership roles has afforded me a wealth of knowledge and experience as a leader to serve as your next Director At-Large and assist and support the Board of Directors, Executive Director and AMHCA members to carryout current Vision and Strategic plan of Collaboration, Advocacy, Research, Ethical Practice, Training and Professional Development as well as meeting the health care needs to advance the profession. I am known to be a Visionary, Goal-driven and a Bridge Builder.
I have been a member of American Mental Health Counselors Association since 2011. I have worked as substance abuse counselor, school counselor, rehabilitation counselor, college professor and currently, I am business owner of a nationwide private practice group. I have appeared on television shows as a celebrity therapist. I have dedicated and served 35-years of my life has an advocator and clinician “best known as the counseling profession”. I am the President of the Miami chapter of mental health counselors. I am the Primary owner of Dr. Luis Hines and Associates and Director of Treatment Operations for five locations in three states: Florida, Georgia and Texas. I hold licenses to practice in those states. I currently serve as the Chairman of the Medical and Health Committee for the Florida Statewide Organization and well as the Assistant District Chairman for states covering Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated for five years. I currently serve as an At-Large member on the International Medical and Health Committee, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
I am in good standing with American Mental Health Counselors Association, Florida Mental Health Counselors Association, American Counselors Association, License Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, Texas Mental Health Counselors Association, Florida Counseling Association, American Counselor Education and Supervision Association, American Association of Christian Counselors and South Florida Association of Christian Counselors.
During my 20+ years as a business owner of a nationwide private practice group, I have experience with budgetary operations and overseeing financial reports and management by monthly meetings. Throughout the year, I participate in continue education and training for leadership and clinical development.
I will serve at the will of AMHCA leadership, and I am a team player. I have successfully charter Miami Mental Health Counselors Association chapter and presides over various meetings in business and professional and community organizations. I believe I have the experience, skills and vision to take AMHCA to the next level. AMHCA must build bridges and embrace diversity within the organization. There are strengths in diversity, not in division. I would appreciate your vote as your next Director At-Large for AMHCA.
