Advocate of the Year Award

Purpose of the Award

The Advocate of the Year Award is an award presented at the AMHCA Annual Conference to recognize an AMHCA member who has excelled in grassroots advocacy. The individual sets an example for his or her peers by undertaking a significant amount of advocacy endeavors at the federal and/or state level on behalf of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling profession.

Criteria

  1. Nominees may be nominated for time given on behalf of legislative policy or participating in legislative policy making at a local, state, regional or national level.

Procedure for Nomination

Any person who is a current member of AMHCA may make a nomination. Clarity of presentation and complete and specific documentation of the behaviors and/or incidents supporting this nomination will facilitate the committee's selection process.
