The first HIPAA-compliant platform providing clinical supervision through secure video conferencing has teamed up with AMHCA to make the path to licensure easier for professional counselors.

NOV. 6, 2019 (ATLANTA) - Motivo, the first platform for online clinical supervision, is proud to announce its partnership with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

By partnering with Motivo—a HIPAA-compliant network for connecting therapists to clinical supervisors for live video supervision—AMHCA members seeking licensure can find a supervisor and receive a discount on their first three sessions of supervision

With the rise of telehealth, many states now allow clinical supervision hours to be obtained online through live video conferencing. That's why Rachel McCrickard, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, created Motivo to provide a more accessible option for supervision.

“As a licensed therapist, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to find quality supervision that’s both convenient and affordable,” McCrickard said. “At Motivo, we believe that things should be different. We believe that supervision is foundational to the continued development of a therapist, which is why we want to give professionals the opportunity to find a quality supervisor, regardless of geographical barriers.”

Multiple states across the U.S. have changed the rules to allow for some or all of a clinician’s supervision to be done online. Motivo is also quickly gaining traction as a go-to resource for new mental health professionals seeking licenses such as an LPC, LMFT or LCSW.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Motivo as our newest AMHCA partner for our counselors seeking clinical supervision or peer consultation,” said Joel Miller, Executive Director of AMHCA. “The Motivo platform’s capability to connect counselors for distance supervision is one of the most innovative benefits we’re able to provide to our members.”

AMHCA members are eligible for a 20% discount on clinical supervision or peer consultation services for the first three sessions occurring on Motivo’s web platform.
