This session equips counselors with practical strategies to help clients identify transferable skills, build confidence, strengthen professional narratives, network strategically, and develop realistic job search plans that improve career outcomes while reducing anxiety.

By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Identify common challenges clients experience during career transitions, including layoffs, career pivots, employment gaps, and changes in the hiring landscape.
2. Apply practical strategies to help clients identify and communicate transferable skills, accomplishments, and professional value.
3. Use career development and coaching techniques to help clients rebuild confidence and create a clear professional narrative during periods of transition.
4. Develop actionable job search strategies with clients that incorporate networking, relationship building, targeted applications, and realistic career goals.
About Coach Lani
Lani Shaw is an ICF-certified executive and career coach, attorney, speaker, and founder of Lani Shaw Coaching & Consulting, LLC. With more than 20 years of professional and leadership experience, she helps professionals navigate career transitions, strengthen their confidence, communicate their value, and strategically position themselves for their next opportunity. Through her coaching practice, Lani has supported clients through career pivots, layoffs, promotions, interviews, and leadership transitions. Her work also addresses workplace wellness and burnout, helping professionals pursue career growth without sacrificing their well-being in the process.
Lani is also the creator and host of the Level Up with Coach Lani YouTube channel, where she shares practical career and leadership strategies, and writes the Ask Coach Lani career advice column for Connected Woman Magazine.
