Home Study: The Neurobiology of Stress in Children and Adolescents: Bottom-up Approaches to Support Regulation and Health

This presentation will support clinicians’ understanding of the neurobiological underpinnings of common “problem behaviors” in children and adolescents. It will help providers develop their clinical skills around promoting self-regulation and positive coping for their young clients.


Learning Objectives:


1. Understand prevalence and impact of trauma and stress on developing brain and body
2. Recognize neurobiological etiology of common behaviors in children and adolescents
3. Demonstrate novel, bottom-up strategies to foster self-regulation in young clients

 

AMHCA will provide 1.0 CEs total after viewing and completing the accompanying quiz with a passing grade (80% or higher). American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) has been approved to provide continuing education by the National Board for Certified Counselors and the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
