Navigating the World of Private Practice

Learners working in other areas of mental health will understand how to launch into or grow their current private practice.

Objectives:
1) Learners will understand the pros and cons of taking insurance and how to initiate credentialing on insurance panels  

2) Learners will understand helpful ways to market themselves and their practice 
3) Learners will understand if solo or group practice is best for them and how to know when it's time to expand


About the Presenter, Sarah Coates:
Sarah Coates is the founder & President of One-Eighty Counseling P.A. She founded the group practice in 2007 and has facilitated the company's growth to become one of the largest Mental Health private practices in Southeastern NC. One-Eighty Counseling has 5 triangle and greater triangle locations and is continuing to grow rapidly with 62 licensed therapists. Sarah is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and Distance Credentialed Counselor (DCC). Sarah mainly focuses on business development and overseeing the functioning of the large group practice. She does carry a very small caseload and is a fully trained EMDR therapist. Sarah also serves on the BCBS Provider Advisory Group, a 15 member board helping BCBS affect behavioral health policy and serves on the Campbell University Counselor Education Advisory Board. In her spare time Sarah spends time with her family boating at the beach, reading and practicing yoga.
