Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force

As the premier national organization for Clinical Mental Health Counselors, we strive to cultivate a climate of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as an essential cornerstone of AMHCA.

We value all human beings and cultures by promoting safe spaces for authentic diverse voices; by providing opportunities to enhance cultural competencies for Behavioral Healthcare Professionals and Emerging Professionals; and by engaging the community with Mental Healthcare Services in the highest ethical manner.

Goals
  • Conduct formal and information need assessments with the Board of Directors and membership wtihin the first quarter of fiscal year.
  • Promote Cultural Competencies of Behavioral Healthcare Providers by implementing relevant training events at least four times within two years.
  • Seek to incorporate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion into at least two domains of AMHCA with partnership within two years.
  • Publicly acknowledge the efforts, celebrations, and alignment of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to Mental Healthcare four times within two years.
